If you want to experience the true heart and soul of our local community, there is one date you absolutely must circle on your calendar this August. On Saturday, 8th August 2026, the historic Mid-Argyll Agricultural Show returns to Kilmory in Lochgilphead for its 127th year.
Located just a few minutes down the road from Bradan Lodges, this beloved annual tradition brings together farmers, artisan makers, and visitors from across the Highlands for the ultimate celebration of rural Scottish life. It makes for a wonderful, laid-back day out.
What’s On at the Show?
The Mid-Argyll Show is a fantastic, action-packed day out in the fresh country air, offering a wonderful mix of traditional heritage and local flavour:
The Companion Dog Show: Because we are proudly dog-friendly lodges, this is a major highlight! The show welcomes spectators’ dogs, meaning your four-legged companion can tag along and even enter a few fun classes to win a coveted prize rosette.
Artisan Food & Craft Marquees: Wander through the tents to sample incredible regional cheeses, baking, and local spirits, or browse beautiful handmade crafts, tweeds, and artwork from local Argyll creators.
The Main Ring & Livestock: Watch the judging of world-class, iconic Highland cattle, sheep, and majestic Clydesdale horses.
Vintage Heritage: Explore a fantastic display of beautifully restored classic tractors and traditional farming machinery.
Getting there is incredibly simple, too; the show runs a free shuttle bus right from Lochgilphead Front Street straight up to the showground at Kilmory.
