Are the lodges and facilities truly private?
Absolute seclusion is at the heart of the experience offered at Bradan Lodges. Each of the three luxury lodges is a self-contained sanctuary designed for total privacy. Pine Marten is tucked away deep within the ancient trees, while Woodcock and Wildcat are situated over 100 metres apart with their own sweeping, uninterrupted views of the glen. You can relax in the knowledge that your space is yours alone, far from the bustle of modern life.
Does each lodge have its own private hot tub and outdoor space?
Yes, every lodge features its own private hot tub for your exclusive use—perfect for stargazing in the Western Highlands. You will also enjoy dedicated outdoor living areas: Pine Marten boasts a magnificent large raised deck overlooking Kilmichael Glen, while Woodcock and Wildcat feature enchanting fairy-lit patios. Whether you are enjoying a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine, your outdoor space is entirely private.
Are the barbeque huts private to each lodge?
To ensure your Highland escape remains intimate and personal, each lodge has its own private barbeque hut. There is no need to share or book a time slot; your indoor grill is available whenever the mood strikes. These atmospheric huts allow for year-round outdoor dining, keeping you warm and dry while you soak up the magical atmosphere of the glen, regardless of the weather. They also each have fire pits outside ready for toasting marshmallows!
Do the lodges have wood-burning stoves?
Woodcock and Wildcat lodges have wood-burning stoves while Pine Marten has gas central heating. All are warm, cosy retreats in which to relax and unwind.
How far are the lodges from Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Stirling?
Escape the city with ease: Bradan Lodges is a scenic 2-hour drive from Glasgow and roughly 2 hours and 45 minutes from Edinburgh and Stirling. The journey through the sea loch country of Argyll is the perfect transition into the peace of the Western Highlands. Close enough to make a luxury weekend break from the city worthwhile.
How long is the drive from England or Wales to the lodges?
Reaching our secluded corner of Argyll is a remarkably straightforward and scenic journey. Following the M6 and M74 north, guests from Cumbria (e.g., Carlisle) can arrive in just 3.5 hours, while those traveling from Yorkshire (e.g., Leeds or York) typically reach us in 5.5 hours. Even from North Wales, a 6 to 7-hour drive brings you through the heart of the Western Highlands to the peaceful sanctuary of the glen. Service stations Tebay and Cairn Lodge offer a Farm Shop style experience on the way, the perfect places to stop for lunch or pick up luxury delicacies for your stay.
Are the lodges dog-friendly, and is there an extra charge?
These are luxury dog-friendly lodges in Scotland with no extra fees—dogs stay entirely for free. Every canine guest receives a bespoke pup pamper pack on arrival, including a luxury bed and treats, ensuring a stress-free stay for each and every one of our guests.
Is more than one dog allowed?
There is no limit on the number of well-behaved dogs who are allowed in the lodges. All members of the family should have the chance to enjoy the ultimate Highland retreat.
Is the environment safe and secluded for dogs?
Absolute seclusion is at the heart of the experience. Positioned deep within the Western Scotland wilderness, the lodges offer a peaceful sanctuary away from busy roads and city noise. Enjoy the freedom of the meadow and ancient woodland on the doorstep of your lodge. From July 2026, Pine Marten Lodge will feature a new gate on its deck, creating an enclosed space for dogs. What dog-friendly activities are available in the area?
Discover a paradise for secluded walking holidays. From hikes up Burenich Hill to wanders along the River Add, the landscape is yours to explore. Nearby towns offer exceptional dog-friendly pubs, including The Horseshoe Inn, where four-legged friends are always welcome.
Are there livestock around?
Yes there are. There is a farm just outside the lodge with many sheep and some cattle, and there are two friendly donkeys on-site, Sam and Rodney. If your dog is not used to sheep, donkeys and cattle, please play it safe and keep him or her on a lead to avoid any accidents and injury to local livestock or your beloved pet.
What time is check-in and how do I get my keys?
Enjoy a seamless self-check-in from 3:00 PM. In this peaceful Glen, there is no crime to speak of, so the key will simply be waiting in the door for your arrival. If an earlier or later check-in suits your travel plans better, just let us know and we will do our best to arrange it.
What time is check-out, and can I stay longer?
Check-out is at 10:00 AM, though a later departure can often be arranged depending on availability. If you find yourself reluctant to leave the quiet of the glen—as many guests do—simply ask about extending your stay; we are always happy to check for extra nights so you can linger a little longer in the Highlands.
Is there free Wifi and is it reliable?
Seclusion doesn’t have to mean complete disconnection at Bradan Lodges! There is free, reliable WiFi so that you can happily curl up and watch NetFlix on the smart TV, or even work remotely while at your lodge.
How do I book, and can I cancel?
A £200 deposit is taken on direct bookings through the website by secure card payment (Stripe). This is refundable within 24 hours if you contact the owner directly. After that, the deposit is non-refundable. The balance for your stay will be taken 2 weeks before check-in through the card details you booked with. See our Terms and Conditions for more details.

What are the best things to do near Kilmichael Glen and Lochgilphead?
The area is a living museum. Explore the ancient standing stones of Kilmartin Glen, climb the historic Dunadd Fort, or visit the stunning newly renovated Kilmartin Museum which chronicles the rich history of the area stretching back 5,000 year. Take a short drive to the white sands of Kilmory Beach for a beautiful dog walk, or visit Taynish Nature Reserve to discover the rich wildlife of the area. For dining, the Tayvallich Inn and the seafood bars of The Crinan Hotel are all within easy reach. Whisky tours are also available in Oban, just one hour away from from the lodges.
Can I go fishing close to the lodges and on the West Coast?

Can the lodge be decorated for a special occasion?
Indeed it can, and celebrations are our speciality! Decorations include vintage bunting, paper honeycomb pompoms and soft flameless candles to give your lodge a unique atmosphere the moment you arrive. We can provide flowers and even petals scattered on the bed. Treats such as afternoon tea boxes, cakes and breakfast hampers can also be arranged in advance to be waiting for your arrival. Prices for these extras are available on application in advance of your stay.
Can a professional massage be booked during a stay?
To enhance the feeling of total relaxation, a professional mobile massage therapist can be scheduled to visit the lodge. This is a popular choice for couples looking to unplug and enjoy a wellness break in the Western Highlands without leaving the comfort of the wood-burning stove.

Is there an EV charging point for electric car drivers?
To ensure a worry-free Highland adventure, a high-speed EV charging point will be available on-site from August 2026. This allows for easy exploration of the winding coastal roads and ancient sites like Kilmartin Glen, and zero stress when you arrive and know you can charge up.
