One year ago, on 29th August 2025, Edward and Julia Timpson officially took the helm at Bradan Lodges.
Having long fallen in love with this extraordinary corner of Scotland, with its rich history, abundant wildlife, and rugged natural beauty, we knew we wanted to share it. Our vision was simple: to offer a luxury lodge experience for couples fully in harmony with the unique surroundings of the Western Highlands.
In today’s fast-paced world, true peace and seclusion is hard to come by. What drew us here was the rare, undisturbed tranquillity of Kilmichael Glen. With a low density of lodges positioned so they never overlook one another, guests enjoy pure privacy and space, with the added joy of a private hot tub and barbeque hut. Together with our brilliant Lodge Manager, Zoe, we’ve worked tirelessly to elevate every detail of the guest experience.
It has been a year packed with milestones: we launched a fresh new brand and website, installed a charger for stress-free EV travel, and extended and renovated the deck at Pine Marten lodge. We have also arranged custom decorations and delivered bespoke treats, from flowers for a successful proposal at Wildcat Lodge to Valentine’s petals adorning the bed at Pine Marten. Lodge decoration, breakfast hampers, afternoon tea boxes, and celebration cakes are all now part of our elevated guest experience, which can be explored here.
Celebrating You and Your Four-Legged Friends!
The absolute highlight of our first year has been meeting so many warm and engaging guests, many from other areas of Scotland and Glasgow, but also quite a few from further afield such as England, Wales, and even Germany. We are honoured to have played a small part in many special moments including:

- 4 Special Anniversaries
- 10 Birthdays
Our own Border Terrier, Lucas, thinks the Western Highlands were made just for him, and welcoming pets is close to our hearts. We’ve even hosted dog-influencers Skye, Jake, Sully, Odin, and Moose (you can read all about their tail-wagging adventures in our other blog posts, for example here!).
To everyone (and every dog!) who visited in the past year, and especially those who have already returned for a second stay: thank you!
We have so much to celebrate from our first 12 months, but we are just getting started. Keep your eyes peeled for exciting new developments coming in 2027. There is so much more to look forward to!
