The four poster bed has 800 thread-count White Company bed linen, topped with a cosy fur throw and cushions. A deep-pile Skye Skin rug lies in front of the living flame fire. Taking pride of place in the bathroom is a magnificent copper bath, backed with unusual copper tiles.
Outside enjoy a fairy-lit barbecue or pizza from the oven, sit and watch the stars, or toast marshmallows over the sunken firepit. A private hot tub is constantly heated, to sooth away any aches or pains after walking the hills.
Dogs are welcome at the lodge.
Excellent restaurants are nearby, and although the lodge is situated in a very quiet and unspoilt glen, it is just ten minutes from the nearest shops, pubs and restaurants. Woodcock Lodge is set in the most ancient landscape in Scotland – Kilmartin Glen, quarter of an hour away, has the highest concentration of Neolithic monuments in Europe. The lodge is also well placed for daily boat trips to the stunning West Coast islands, from Mull to Jura or Islay. Enjoy a trip out to the Corryvrechan whirlpool, with the chance to see dolphins, porpoise, sea eagles, seals and Minke whales, hire bikes, and cycle down the world-famous Crinan Canal or try some wild swimming.
